Uruaka is a premium Akaushi beef brand rooted in two places and one pursuit. Our cattle carry rare Japanese Akaushi genetics — one of the four original Wagyu breeds, known historically as the Emperor’s Breed — raised on the natural grasslands of Tacuárembó, Uruguay.

We are not chasing the highest marbling score. We are pursuing the most satisfying steak experience: balanced, traceable, and built to a standard most beef never meets. Uruaka is not yet available. We are in the early stages of something designed to last seven generations. The pursuit has begun.

Our Story

Two places. One pursuit.

Section 1

The Breed

Akaushi is one of the four original Wagyu breeds — the Emperor's Breed. Fewer than a handful of herds carry these genetics outside of Japan. Ours is one.

Section 2

The Place

Tacuárembó, Uruguay. The heart of South American cattle country. The cleanest, most traceable beef supply chain in the world.

The Crossing

The Pacific between Japan and Uruguay. The distance the genetics traveled. The philosophy that made the journey worth taking. The distance is part of what it is.

Our Story

Shokunin is a Japanese word for the devoted pursuit of craft mastery. The shokunin does not seek recognition. They pursue one thing, with complete attention, because the work demands it.

Cattle do not answer to quarters. A herd built for balance takes years to shape, generations to refine. We do not measure our work by seasons. We measure it by the standard we hold every animal to.

The philosophy is not decoration. It is the operating principle. It is why the herd is small, why the standard is internal, and why the wait is worth it.
